I’ve written here before about my great admiration for Kay Bailey Hutchison, former US senator for Texas. She’s a fine role model for aspiring female politicans and would have made a great Vice Presidential candidate for John McCain, instead of Sarah Palin.
The Houston Chronicle comes up with a sobering thought. Ted Cruz has replaced Kay Bailey Hutchison as Senator. That’s the Ted Cruz who has completely messed up Congress over the last few months.
Whereas, if Kay Bailey Hutchison was still senator, in place of Ted Cruz, she would have undoubtedly been part of the solution, rather than part of the problem. (That’s not to say that a more emollient male wouldn’t have done similarly well).
