Proud moment

It was transcendentally wonderful to accompany my mother, with other members of my family, to St Piran’s church, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall (pictured right) last Sunday. There, with others, she was awarded the St Piran’s Cross for her years of service to the church, by the Bishop of Truro.

Well done to Rev. Jeremy Andrew and his flock for laying on a marvellous welcome in the warm and comfy church, with lots of tea and cakes afterwards.

All round, this was an occasion I’ll remember for many years and it was so nice to see my mum honoured in this way. Here she is, after the ceremony, with Dad, brothers Phil and James, sister Eliza and me, in a photo taken by my biblically named niece, Keziah.
